Vermont American Sweepstakes Offers Weekend with Hollywood “Drill Instructor” R. Lee Ermey

(MT. PROSPECT, IL) – On March 15, Vermont American Power Tool Accessories launched a nationwide sweepstakes that will reward two lucky grand prize winners with a star-studded weekend with Hollywood legend R. Lee Ermey.  Grand prize winners will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Washington, D.C., as VIP guests for the R. Lee Ermey Celebrity Experience.

The Experience includes a round of golf with Ermey, great dining, mingling with celebrities, and attendance at a special taping of “Mail Call,” the cable program that Ermey hosts on the History Channel.

Ermey, a former Marine, has been the voice and face of countless military heroes in film and television.  Known for his roles in movies such as “Full Metal Jacket” and “Toy Story” and as the host of “Mail Call,” Ermey serves as the official spokesperson for the Unmet Needs Program, for which Vermont American is a founding sponsor.

The Vermont American R. Lee Ermey Celebrity Experience Sweepstakes will run through December 2006.  Entry forms with complete contest rules are available at retail locations where Vermont American products are sold.  Retail outlets can be located by visiting the Vermont American Web site (www.vermontamerican.com) and clicking on “Where to Buy.”

Eighteen first prize winners will be selected and receive their choice of one of six Bosch designer appliances.  Forty-five second prize winners will choose one of four power tools from Bosch or Skil.  All 90 third prize winners will get to select one of four small appliances from Bosch.  Finally, 450 fourth prize winners will receive a Self-Feed Spade Bit set from Vermont American.
The R. Lee Ermey Celebrity Experience will take place September 8 – 10, 2006.  The grand prize winners will be announced in mid-June, but prizes will continue to be awarded through December.

“This is an exciting project that will reach coast-to-coast,” said Kurt Honaker, Director of Brand Marketing, Vermont American Brand Power Tool Accessories.  “For our brand, this nationwide promotion, plus our association with Mr. Ermey, raises awareness about our quality products and further expands our customer base.”

In addition to the sweepstakes, Vermont American works with Ermey to support the Unmet Needs Program as part of its five-year, $1.25 million contribution.  Administered by the nonprofit Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Unmet Needs Program provides emergency financial support to families of military personnel.  Thanks to Vermont American’s support, 100 percent of individual donations go toward helping military families.  Contributions can be made at www.unmetneeds.com or by calling 1-866-789-NEED (1-866-789-6333).
