How Your Skills and Time Have Helped

April 25, 2005

San Diego, CA

Eager to do their part while Marines from Camp Pendleton fight overseas, the San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association (SDFWA) helped the best way they knew how – with their hands.  Working on behalf of the Unmet Needs Program, they created an elaborate wooden play area for the children of personnel at the base.  Tools were provided by Vermont American.  Local businesses as well as VFW and Camp Pendleton volunteers also pitched in. In the words of Ed Gladney, president of the SDFWA, “This project has become a real source of joy and pride for our members”.
